I've been asked a lot lately about QR codes and how clients might use them. QR codes are great for using in print advertising and other off premises marketing to drive people to your mobile website or video or for more information about a product or service, but what about engaging the customer in your store?

The video below highlights just one example about how that might be done. Using the QR codes to direct customers online where they can get more information about a particular product is still a good idea, but what if you had them scanning for several different products? The longer you keep them on site the better your chances of making or adding to a sale. But you don't have to limit it to just more information about products. The QR codes can send them to demonstration videos of how to best use a product or to customer reviews about a particular product or service. The code can send them anywhere you want them to go.

Now, some people are concerned with their data usage on their cell phone plan. In the video you'll notice that the store offers free Wi-Fi. Next to each QR code is a sign advising them of the free Wi-Fi. This is a great service to provide for your customers and it costs you little or nothing. Your business already has broadband Internet, so all you need to do is invest in a Wi-Fi router and you're up and going. Now, you're helping your customers save money. What a guy!

Take a look at this quick little video to see how the store in England is working to engage their customers with QR codes in the store.

If you don't know about Facebook insights for your Facebook fan page then you're missing out on some very valuable information. Insight offers metrics on every single post your fan page puts out. I want to go ahead and take this time to emphasize again the importance of having a fan page for your business and not a profile. A profile is for a person and people have friends. A fan page is for brand and brands have fans. Also, Facebook fan pages are indexed by search engines and they offer Facebook insights to help you get the most out of your business fan page.

In this video I will quickly go over some of the more important features of Facebook insights. Some of the things we'll talk about our engaged users, talking about, and virality.

Here are the links I talked about in the video:

1)  This link is a PDF file put out by Facebook explaining in more detail Facebook Insights.

2)  This link is a PDF file put out by Facebook outlining best practices for posting to your Facebook fan page. The power of Facebook is in the interaction and sharing. This guy lays out some simple rules for promoting these two benefits.

So, you've got your Facebook fan page, but how do you get o cool URL like Facebook.com/DominionMarketing? I show you how in this short video.

After getting more inqueries about QR codes I had to vlog about them...again. QR (quick response) codes are showing up everywhere and my clients want to know what they are and how to use them, as well as...where do they get them.
